Back in 2007, Max kicked off his first “viral currency” on a public ledger, calling it Viral Monetary Units. With over 20 years in art, design, and typography (and 100M+ downloads to prove it), he’s all about giving communities the power to own their value—turning art into a shared experience where viewers step up as co-creators. By blending art with tech, Max builds spaces where people can connect, grow, and spark creativity. He’s even tapped into the world of DAOs, having served as the Product Manager and Strategist for DAOs and Communities at Dacoco—the creative force behind Alienworlds.io. Using one of his many art aliases, he made a splash with Curio Cards (www.curio.cards)—the very first art NFTs on Ethereum in 2017. Performing as Marisol Vengas, his work hit the spotlight at Christie’s and Sotheby’s in October 2021. When he’s not building next-gen software, you’ll find him in his Chico, CA studio, busy consulting, and primarily making fine art and creating is own art based killer platform– to store the future of human creation for AI to leverage.

I’ve always been fascinated by the interplay of money and community. Discovering Bitcoin early inspired me to channel that innovative spirit into my art, creating works that emulate community building on the blockchain. Over the years, I’ve supported various Web3 communities and projects, all while continually evolving my creative practice. Today, I’m blending time-tested approaches with fresh ideas to build a platform rooted in proven success.
