Brief Bio:
Maxximillian is a polymath creative and host of multiple conversations at the forefront of blockchain art and music. She leads Art On Bitcoin, a twice-weekly Space dedicated to art on Bitcoin, featuring artists, projects, and deep discussions on process, philosophy, and even the morality of art on-chain. These take place every Tuesday and Friday at 8:08 GM PT. She also hosts ArtSymp, a podcast exploring blockchain’s role in fine art—how it gets there, what we do with it, and why it matters, helping audiences understand the significance of crypto fine art and high-tech fine art. Additionally, she hosts BeatSymp, the official podcast for the Onchain Music Cabal, where the intersection of blockchain and music takes center stage with a mission to enlighten all independent music publishers to join the future of sustainable income for musicians. As Editor-in-Chief of GALPHA Fine Art Discovery, Maxximillian spotlights the most innovative artists working at the intersection of crypto, technology, and figurative art, sharing in-depth interviews and curating groundbreaking work to OBJETS Fine Art Technologies, a platform dedicated to fine art with a technological edge, focusing on objects, landscapes, and abstract works, while highlighting the developers and visionaries bringing them to life. Maxximillian’s work exists at the nexus of art, technology, and the blockchain—where the future of creative expression is being written in code.
Your Ethereum / web3 journey:
Maxximillian entered the crypto art space in 2021, landing in a late-night Clubhouse room where bestselling artists were sharing insights on thriving in the world of crypto art. It was a bull run—an electric time to enter the space—and that serendipitous conversation set the stage for what became an ongoing journey of creation, innovation, and deep exploration of blockchain-powered art. Since then, she has continued to push the boundaries of digital expression, minting music and art across Tezos, Polygon, Ethereum, Base, Solana, Bitcoin, and soon, ApeChain. She is the founder of The Museum of Robot Art, showcasing the finest sentient robots onchain—fashioned from precious alloys and infused with rare artistic vision. Also Futurist Motor Club, a collection of sentient robotic vehicles large enough for humans to inhabit. She is perhaps best known for her work as Maxximillian Pepavaggio—inducted into PepeFest hall of fame, curated by Beeple in 2024. Her 2025 endeavors, Skelevaggio, SuperKind Toy Co and Maxximillian’s Haunted Mansion are interactive gamified collections with game utility and more are live onchain.

Link to Maker Project:
https://veil.skelevaggio.quest
Maker Project Description:
Veil is an art project by Maxximillian Dafoe in asynchronous collaboration with the world’s great curators of human culture—and potentially you. It is a creative intervention designed to protect and preserve historical documents, testimonies, and human histories currently under threat, as institutions face censorship, erasure, and political suppression under the present regime. Instead of simply archiving documents—a task that can feel dry and bureaucratic—Veil transforms the act of preservation into an artistic movement. By embedding critical historical records within art itself, we ensure that the truth remains accessible, resilient, and impossible to erase. Just as fruits and vegetables act as batteries of sunlight—powering human life—relics, artworks, and written materials serve as batteries of culture. They hold wisdom and knowledge, waiting for another human to come along and consume them, gaining insights they could never obtain any other way. Because maintaining the history of humanity is essential—but collecting documents is boring. Collecting art? Now that’s fun.
Which category best describes your Maker Project?:
Interactive art, blockchain integration – gamified art, hacker vibes for the culture. Quietly Disruptive Art
Project Inspiration & Impact:
Veil was born out of both urgency and love—urgency because history is being erased in real-time, and love because art has always been the most powerful way to preserve the truth. I became painfully aware of how often regimes, particularly those driven by fear and insecurity, attempt to rewrite history by destroying documents, silencing voices, and erasing the contributions of those who built the very foundations of our world. Under this current presidential administration, we’re witnessing a systematic dismantling of funded programs that promote diversity, the arts, and historical preservation. This isn’t just about cutting budgets—it’s about erasing stories, suppressing the truth, and rewriting the past to fit a narrative that serves power rather than people. The contributions of minorities, women, and marginalized communities—the very people who built this country—are being diminished, ignored, or outright deleted. That’s unacceptable. Maxximillian’s Veil is a defiant act of resistance. By embedding historical documents, testimonies, and cultural relics into my art onchain, we ensure that these histories cannot be erased. The blockchain is permanent, censorship-resistant, and borderless. They want to mute our voices in the song of history—we now make it immutable. But beyond preservation, I want Veil to spark curiosity and engagement. Most people aren’t interested in collecting dusty archives—but we do collect art. If history is hidden in beauty, in music, in visual storytelling, then people will interact with it, protect it, and share it—carrying it forward for one reason or another. Art is not just a reflection of culture; it is a battery of culture—storing wisdom, experience, and identity for future generations. And just like sunlight is stored in fruits and vegetables to nourish human bodies, history is stored in art to nourish human minds. Veil is about ensuring that when the next generation looks for their history, they find us—not the sanitized, rewritten version, but the truth. Because the history of humanity belongs to all of us, and no regime, no matter how powerful, can fade us if we continue to innovate beyond expectation.
Technical Details:
Art and curation of Maxximillian’s Veil by Maxximillian, made dynamic with smart contacts from Transient Labs. The project is powered by Chimera, an open-source tool developed by Patrick Amadon (source code available on GitHub) and built into a web app by @jay_wooow. The initial clandestine material was contributed by GodCloud, who first brought this tragic historical pattern to Maxximillian’s attention: the repeated attempts of shamed regimes to erase history by destroying written records, art, and music—our human relics, where so much wisdom and culture are stored for future generations.
Setup Requirements:
Internet connection. Projector would be amazing. Alternatively, ppl can connect on their own laptops and mobile devices to see the art – I can run a slideshow/with short filmed demos that play as I talk, from my iPad. Power access would be helpful. For interactions with the clandestine works of art, a user would want to use their own laptop computer.
Audience Interaction?:
We’re about to go ‘On the Record.’ I’ll read a statement, and if it applies to you, stand up—you’re officially on the record. If not, stay seated—like an untold story. Audience participation opportunities throughout, including for remote viewers who can participate via poll prior to the event.
Has this project been displayed before?:
While some of the physical art from this project was showcased during Miami Art Week, ETH Denver marks the first time the full project is being presented in person.
