Objective
Perform (and document) a random act of kindness for another ETHDenver BUIDLer
to spread positivity, support your fellow builders, and earn sweet community-driven rewards!
How It Works
1. Do a Random Act of Kindness
Approach another BUIDLer or attendee in need of a helping hand—or simply surprise them with something thoughtful. Some examples:
- Help someone debug a tricky smart contract.
- Volunteer to grab coffee/lunch for someone buried in code.
- Offer a quick crash course on a topic you know well (e.g., DeFi, Solidity, zero-knowledge proofs).
- Provide a friendly pep talk to someone overwhelmed by their hackathon project.
- Gift a piece of your awesome swag to someone who missed the booth.
- Introduce them to a valuable contact or help them network.
2. Capture the Moment
Take a fun photo or short video with the person you helped. The bigger the smile, the better! Make sure you both agree to share it.
Optional Extra: If you created something tangible (like a piece of art or a small hack), do a quick demo or share a screenshot of it.
3. Submit Your Kindness
Post your photo and a short description (1–2 sentences) of your kind act below.
4. Community Voting
The community (and the recipients of kindness) can vote!
5. Claim Your Reward
Once your kindness is verified and meets the basic criteria (photo + quick explanation),
you’re considered a Kindness Quest Champion! Top Acts of Kindness (most upvotes/reactions/favorites)
earn special bonuses—could be NFT badges, exclusive swag, or even a chance to pitch in front of special mentors!
Creative Ideas
- Kindness Chain Reaction: If you’re on the receiving end of a kind act, pay it forward by doing something equally kind for someone else. Let’s see how big this chain can get before ETHDenver ends!
- Group Kindness Challenge: Team up with friends to orchestrate a bigger act!
- Global Gratitude Wall: Set up a collaborative “digital gratitude board” for folks to drop quick messages of thanks or highlight specific BUIDLers who helped them.
Tips for Success
- Keep It Genuine: A simple gesture often goes further than a big, flashy one. Consider what the other person actually needs or would find helpful.
- Document Thoughtfully: While capturing the moment is part of the quest, make sure you have the recipient’s consent. We want everyone to feel comfortable.
- Spread the Word: Encourage others to participate by showing them how simple and fun it can be. Post your act early—good vibes are contagious!
